Did you read that verse? How many times have you quoted it? How many times have you used it when someone else was having doubts? Yet how many times in your own life do you say " I can't' or 'I don't know if I can'? Now you are in good company when you say that, some great men of God have also told God what they could not do. Yet God has been faithful and they accomplished great things.
Stepping out in faith can be hard and sometime we need an encouraging push to get us moving in the right direction. That is human. It is also human to give up but that is never God's will. Paul had realized that God is faithful, God is not going to tell you to do something that cannot be done. Now it may not be done the way we would have thought it should be, but if He tells you to do it, He will give you the ability.
Do you feel too tired to do it, Christ is our strength. Do you feel unqualified? Do you think you know the qualifications better than God does? Really that's what we are saying when God tells us to do something and we 'I'm not qualified'. We are saying to God 'You don't know what you are talking about'. I mean really, have your ever thought about what you are telling God? I had never thought about it in those terms, but in truth we are telling God we know what is needed to preform this task better than He does. That's just not true. He knows all things.
Do you feel your past keeps you from it? Maybe your past has the key to you being able to reach someone that no one else could reach. Maybe something you have lived through will help them relate to what God is doing. But it's too painful to relive it, I'm going to be harsh here. Is it more painful than the cross, the beating Christ suffered? No, I didn't think so.
We can do whatever God calls us to do, but we can only do it in the strength of Christ. We can only do it if we are walking with Him daily. We can't do it on our own and if we managed on our own it would not have the desired impact. God wants us to lean on Him daily for our strength. He is our power source. Trust Him today that He WILL give you strength.
