These are just a few of the verses that relate to fear and what God has told us about fear. Basically He says 'don't do it'. Yet it is so easy to do. We don't mean to give into fear but the devil knows that fear is a crack that he can use to get inside our heads. There are so many things out there to fear. The world we live in is wicked, those that live around us are dangerous. Fear is on every hand.
Yet God says 'Fear Not'. Why does He tell us not to fear? It is because He is with us. He keeps us. Notice in II Timothy 1:7, it says we are not given the spirit of fear but we are given power, love and a sound mind. God knows that satan wants to use our mind as his play ground. If he can get in your head, he can chip away at our faith. Fear and faith cannot peacefully co-exist. When fear meets faith, fear is destroyed.
I hope that the verses above give you the same comfort as they do me. That God cares enjoy not to just tell me to not be afraid, but He repeats it over and over again. He knows there are those like me out there that forget, we don't see how deliverance will come. So he tells us in so many different context and situations that we can see no matter what is going on, we are to fear not.
His love is made manifest to us in His desire to protect us from fear. He knows that fear can disable us to worship and/or work. He knows that we need to learn to trust, as our trust builds, just like our faith building, it makes the fear disappear.
Lord, today we thank You for your fear bursting love. We love you and we praise Your goodness to us.
