Judgment is Coming

I Peter 4:17 - For the time is come that judgment must begin at the house of God: and if it first begin at us, what shall the end be of them that obey not the gospel of God?

As you look around today and see all the things that are happening you have to wonder, how much longer Lord?  We as Americans have turned away from the God of heaven.  Our lawmakers and officials try their best to take away anything that is moral or Godly.

We see our freedoms eroding away, as the government becomes more and more in charge.  I don't see myself as a radical or fanatical but I see that the country I grew up in is not the country my granddaughter is growing up in.  I miss those times.

As we look and say 'why has America left God?', we have no further than the house of God to look.  As Christians we have often taken what I consider to be a fatalistic view 'God is in control, it doesn't matter what we do'.  PLEASE, someone show me where that is found in the Bible!  Show me where God said, just let them go, standing against them is futile.

In my Bible, I find over and over God tells his people to STAND against wickedness.  He tells them to proclaim that God is holy and that sin is wrong!  This 'if you can't beat them, join them mentality' did happen at times in the Bible and every time God condemned it!  We, as Christians, have a lot to be ashamed of.   We have not been the salt and light that God tells us to be.

I was going through my friends list on social media the other day and I was ashamed that I have a number of friends that I do not know if they are saved.  I do not know if Jesus came tomorrow that they would be ready and even worse, I don't know if anyone has ever told them that Jesus is the answer.  Oh I post things on my page, I give opinions on social forums but those things have all but erased the one on one conversations that result in leading other to Christ for many people.

Now God can use a Facebook or Twitter post to convict someone of sin, He can use Periscope to minister to people.  But none of that will ever replace the personal interaction we should have with the world.  We are going to be accountable for that.  How many folks have we come in contact with that we did not provide salt or light?

As Christians we cry 'look at what they did', talking about so many groups that are anti-God and those things can be horrible.  But the Bible says in James 4:17 - 'Therefore to him that knoweth to do good, and doeth it not, to him it is sin.'  We know to do good but we often don't.  We are appalled when non-Christian groups do bad - and that is understandable but we, Christians, are the ones that are held accountable for doing good.  I'm afraid as we are so quick the point the finger at the bad things in this world we are neglecting to look at where our responsibilities in those things are.  May God convict us to STAND for Him.
