Psalms 47: 1 - O clap your hands, all ye people; shout unto God with the voice of triumph.
People worship God differently but I for one like to clap my hands and lift my hands. Sometimes I cry, I may say 'amen', even an occasional 'hallelujah' but I believe we need to praise God daily. I've said it before but God inhabits the praise of His people. You don't feel close to God, when is the last time you praised Him?
It really is that simple. He inhabits praise, if we praise His word proclaims He will be there! Now I like a church that their praise is loud. It is a personal preference. I know there are those that may be loud seeking attention. Billy Kelly (an old evangelist for anyone young reading this) used to say 'don't worry about the wild fire, there will always be enough wet blankets to put it out'. Meaning, yes there will be some that just get 'caught up in the moment' but there will be enough 'looking to pull it apart' to take them down. If your praise is from the heart, don't worry about what others say. If it isn't, someone will call you on it sooner or later or God will reveal it for what it is.
But David is telling us here to clap our hands and shout with the voice of triumph! We are victors! We know how this ends and God is the victor and as His children so are we! So today, worship and praise the King of Kings. He is worthy of our praise and He loves to hear His children rejoice.
