Who is my Father? It is my heavenly Father and this is my daily journey to be the daughter, He wants me to be. These are thoughts from the heart on the things that are pressing each day. I pray you will find encouragement and conviction as you read.

The Words of My Mouth
Do you ever have times that nothing you say is right and it seems everyone finds a way to be offended by things that did not hold an offensive meaning? Well I have!
Psalms 19:14 May the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be pleasing in your sight, O LORD, my Rock and my Redeemer.
How hard that seems to be to do! I know I try but my flesh gets in the way far too often. Folks push my buttons, people get on my nerves. I've looked but I can't find a loophole here, those aren't set up as exceptions. Now that doesn't mean you have to be a doormat. But it does mean that you are to think before the words come out. We need to ask God to put His hand over our mouth (or our fingers that are typing).
Sometimes folks take what we say wrong, they put an entirely different message to what we say, but often we just didn't think our words through carefully enough. I'm so guilty and I really am praying for help with this.
My personality is a 'get it done' person. So I tend to be direct and that is often misunderstood as rude or blunt. I'm aware of that fact but sometimes I'm not aware enough to monitor what I say so it isn't misunderstood.
But the true root of most of our issues is that we don't meditate on the Lord and His Word enough. His Word softens our heart and our words. It helps us to show love instead of frustration or stress. It teaches us to heal rather than destroy. But we must listen to it for that to happen. We must apply it to our lives.
When we don't do that, we harm our testimony. We hurt others and we bring pain to ourselves. But more importantly we dishonor God. We fail to be the Christian we should be.
